Dr Katherine O’Neill (PhD, MCSP) is a Clinical Research Fellow in the Centre of Infection and Immunity, Queen’s University Belfast. She completed her PhD in the area of Lung Clearance Index in Cystic Fibrosis.
She works to facilitate clinical trials and training in outcome measures including Lung Clearance Index in Queen’s University Belfast and the Regional Respiratory Centre, Belfast City Hospital, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. She received the European Cystic Fibrosis Society Young Investigator Award 2014 for her work in Lung Clearance Index has been a contributing author on key papers in the field.
Dr Stephen Rowan (PhD, MRCP) is a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine, Ulster Hospital, South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust with a specialist interest in Bronchiectasis.
He completed his PhD in the area of Lung Clearance Index in Bronchiectasis and is the lead author on a key paper in the field.
Professor Judy Bradley (PhD, MCSP) is the Director of the Clinical Research Facility, Queen’s University Belfast.
Her areas of research interest include bronchiectasis and Cystic Fibrosis and outcome measures including Lung Clearance Index. She was a contributing author on key papers in the field.
Professor Stuart Elborn is the Dean for the School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, Queen’s University Belfast. Prof Elborn is an internationally recognised expert in Cystic Fibrosis and runs research programmes in COPD, bronchiectasis and lung cancer, including clinical trials.
His research is funded by grants from government agencies, charitable bodies, industry and money raised from clinical trials. Through his research Prof Elborn endeavors to bring scientists and clinicians together to promote inter-disciplinary research. He has been successful in developing programmes of research across disciplines, hospitals and universities in Northern Ireland and across the UK and Europe.
